We’ve been studying the book of Titus using questions to get at the facts. A good question to keep in mind as you read the Bible is this, Are there any promises for me to claim?
In reading the book of Titus, one promise that should grip all of our attention is the one regarding our blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He came once, about two thousand years ago. At that time he gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. If you have trusted in this provision you have experienced Salvation.
If you are saved in this way you have something to look forward to. Jesus Christ is coming again. It will be a glorious appearing. And when He comes all our fondest hopes of being all God wants us to be will be realized. John put it this way in 1 John 3:2, “We know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” Isn’t that a wonderful promise?
No matter what happens in our lives down here, it will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Do you believe that? That is a promise for you to claim, found here in the book of Titus.
Stop and reflect on it and ask yourself, what kind of difference should this make in my life? It should motivate me to prepare for that day by living faithfully before God. It should settle me and comfort me when things aren’t going the way I would like to see them go. It should strengthen me when I’m facing difficult challenges or opportunities.
