Praise God. Finally, I got to see a Cardiologist! He set up a Cardiac Catheterization procedure. The outcome is that I have some calcification buildup in my arteries. At this time the Dr. suggested I follow the protocol I have been on and continue my exercise regimen. Soooo, thank the Lord and pray for His watch care over me, and enabling grace to continue as Paul testified in Acts 20:24, “If only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
Our last Vesper service had 17 in attendance. It’s always interesting to see who comes out, including visitors who are not residents here. The one who leads the weekly Bible Study has had to miss a few times, so I’ve been able to teach the class those weeks. It’s always a privilege to teach the Bible. I continue to meet with a couple of retired pastors who live in the area. We see the need to stay engaged in encouraging and challenge each other to buy up the opportunities we see around us – keep looking and praying for those serendipitous encounters God is setting up.
We’ve sent close to 200 of my books to be distributed to inmates in the Geauga County Jail. Pray that God will use them to enlighten and encourage inmates to trust in Jesus and follow him while in prison and when released from prison. Pray for Ethan Maynard, the chaplain there.
Here is a letter from a listener to my radio program. “It’s Monday, October 20th. Just heard and read your message on Psalm 67. My family is experiencing persecution. Please pray for us as we know Jesus and are trying to live out our faith. Sure, we’ve stumbled, but which Christian hasn’t? Ask for God’s strength for us to keep moving forward. Thank you!
Saved by God’s grace, Sheila”
Yes, in the midst of the turmoil and tragedy seen throughout our world, there are some real triumphs. Jesus is on the lips of many. But be sure to remember what John said in 1st John 2:4-6: “The man who says, ‘I know him,’ but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.”
