As we come to the close of this year my prayer is that you’ll experience God’s love through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in His grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Paul’s prayer in Philippians 3:10, close to the end of his life, was that he might know Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death.  For this to become a reality he followed this discipline: “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).  Is that your heart passion?

Let me encourage you to renew your commitment to meditate on God’s Word, the Bible, day and night, as encouraged in Psalm 1:2.  This involves a regiment of reading, studying and even memorizing the Bible.  To encourage you in this I would like for you to consider a challenge; that is, to read the Bible through over the next two years, “read it through in two!”  This will require, on average, reading about 2 chapters a day.  This would also give you time to stop and study anything you come across that interests you.

I’ll introduce the books of the Bible at the appropriate time to keep you on target.  I’ll also do specific studies along the way to illustrate how to get God’s message and apply it to your life.

I sure hope you’ll join us on this journey to “read it through in two!”
