In the devotional study approach I introduced in our last visit I suggested you try answering questions like: What does this portion of the Bible teach about God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit?  We looked at the book of Titus to answer the question about God the Father.  Now let’s find out what Titus says about God the Son, Jesus Christ.

He’s identified as God our Savior.  Grace and truth come from Him and the Father.  He’s called our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.  His return will be a glorious appearing.  He gave himself to redeem us, purify us, and have a personal relationship with us.

After reflecting on what we found we could organize it as follows: Jesus Christ is God.  He is our Savior.  He will return.

Once we grasp what is said about Jesus Christ how should we respond to Him?  First, since Jesus Christ did what is necessary for us to be saved, we should trust in Him as our Savior.  If you’ve never done this, you could do so right now.  Since He is God He’s capable of saving you.

Second, whatever you need, He can handle it.  Trust Him.

Third, once you’ve trusted Him you receive a blessed hope. That’s what Paul calls His glorious appearing.  He’s coming back!  The last chapter has not yet happened.  Your circumstances might be difficult.  You might not know how you’re going to get through them.  But if you trust in Jesus Christ, be of good cheer.  He’s coming back.  It’ll be worth it all then.
