In our last visit we started a chapter study of Psalm 32.  We identified a title, key verses, a significant truth, some cross references and question.  Then we established an outline.

The first point was, there’s a wrong way to seek spiritual deliverance.  Under this point we noted: Don’t keep silent when God is convicting you.  Don’t be stubborn like a horse or mule, resisting God’s conviction.  He will put a bit and bridle on you and guide you, but it will be far more difficult.  There’s inner agony when you are stubborn or silent.

Now let’s look at the second point: There’s a right way to find spiritual deliverance.  You find out what to do in Psalm 32.  Verse 2 declares that you will be truly blessed by God if there is no deceit found in your spirit.  No cover up.  No hiding.  Genuine transparency before the Lord.  So, if you want spiritual deliverance don’t be deceitful when you come to God.

Verse 5 says, "I will acknowledge my sin to you, and I will not cover it up anymore."  Then in the very next verse it goes on to say, "I will confess my sin to you."  So you acknowledge what you find to be true in your heart and you confess it to the Lord.  You admit, "Yes, that’s true about me."

Then you pray. Verse 6 says, "Pray to the Lord when He may be found."  Verse 10 encourages you with this promise: “the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.”  These are the steps you need to take if you want to have a right relationship with God and find deliverance in your spiritual life.
