As we’ve studied Ephesians 5:1-6:4 using the focus and amplify approach I identified the focus as: The secret of a quality life, especially in marriage. Thinking about it some more I felt it could be put this way: A quality “faith family” life is a prerequisite for a quality family life.
Then, amplifying this further into an outline it might look like this:

1. The foundation of a quality “faith family” life:
a. you need the cornerstones of love and commitment
b. you need to select the right building blocks
c. you need to carefully follow the blueprint
d. you need to depend upon divine enabling.
2. The fruition of a quality, biological family life:
a. you need the cornerstones of commitment and love
b. there are personal responsibilities
c. you need to establish healthy objectives
d. you need to depend upon divine enabling. Conclusion: A quality life is the outcome of healthy living within the family of faith. You become a part of the family of faith by trusting in Jesus Christ to be your personal savior. It's also an outcome of healthy living within your biological family. In another sense, a quality life will positively impact the health of your church family life. And it will enable you to contribute to developing a healthier biological family life. Start where you are and allow the process to work both ways. It’s amazing what this will do for your marriage, your family and your faith family, the church.
