As we begin the New Year, 2010, I trust you are anticipating God to do great things in and through you. He wants to. He is ready, as Paul says to “work in you to will and to act according to His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13). The question is, are you ready to “continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling”? (verse 12).
Out of reverence for God are you willing to cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He endeavors to do His work in and through you? To do this is not as complicated as it might seem. The Holy Spirit always does His work in harmony with the Word of God which He inspired men to write. That Word is to be “a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). That is, a lamp to shed enough light for me to take the next step and a light to give enough understanding to plan the direction further down life’s journey.
That’s why I will continue on this program to encourage you to read and study God’s Word as a regular part of your daily life. I will share tips to help you in your Bible study so that you will be able to get God’s message. I want to help you understand it and apply it to your life.
