update from Lud and Mur, March ’22

March 31st, 2022

We want to thank all who prayed that we would have a relaxing and refreshing get away. God answered your prayers. Along the way we expected to have some unique encounters. We were not disappointed. On a dinner cruise we met a Peruvian couple who have moved to Virginia, where they started a Podcast Bible study with four groups of about 200 people each. That is their virtual church! Then, along the way we stopped at a rustic restaurant, where the cook did everything, including talking to you as he cooked, and then praying for you as he served your meal. He shared freely about Jesus with everyone who came in. How refreshing! Then, at another place, as we walked past a guy and his two girls in a sauna pool, we greeted each other. I said to the two girls, how blessed they were to have a Dad who enjoyed playing with them. This led to a conversation in which we discovered he and his wife went to Taylor University with our granddaughter Sarah and her husband Mike. It’s always neat to have fellowship with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
When we got home, among our mail was this letter: “Hello Mr. Golz. I live in Alabama. While listening to Bible Broadcasting Network your program, Getting God’s Message, came on. You were talking about how to search the Scriptures. I called BBN to see how I could get some literature on this and they gave me your address. I hope you can help me with this. I really want to know more about the Word of God and how to study and apply it in my life. Thanks, Betty D.” That’s an example of my target audience – people who want to know God better through reading and studying His Word. I sent her a copy of my booklet on study methods. Please pray that many who hear the program all over the world will be helped in that great pursuit.
Along the way we visited the major network that has carried the program in four languages to see if that outreach can be extended even further. Then we went on to Nashville to attend the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. Again we made some good connections. We plant the seed, pray and wait with expectations that God will bring the outcome He wants (Psalm 5:3, “Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; morning by morning I lay my request before you and wait in expectation.”)
