Update and transition into the New Year 2019, from Lud and Mur

January 16th, 2019

What a joy it has been to receive Christmas greetings from many through cards, email, text, phone calls, and in person. We appreciate the prayer support we receive. Our prayer for you is that Paul’s words in 2nd Corinthians 9:8 will be fulfilled in your lives in 2019: “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

December travels are behind us. Thanks for your prayers. Most of the roads were clear and the car worked well. During the month we got to spend time with all but 4 of our family of 32. It’s increasingly difficult to get everyone together.

One of our grandsons started at Wheaton College last fall. As we look into 2019, a granddaughter is graduating from High School and getting ready for college. Also, two of our grandsons and their wives are expecting to become adoptive parents. And on August 8 we anticipate celebrating our 60th anniversary! We are so grateful to God for His blessing upon our family. We feel as though He has fulfilled the blessing of Numbers 6:24-26 on us: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”

The radio ministry continues to touch hundreds of thousands of lives all over the world. New stations have been added, but a Spanish network in California has dropped the program after two decades of giving us the privilege of sharing God’s Word with their listening audience. Pray that as the daily programs go out over the airways and internet many lives will be touched and transformed by God. I also get word from some who’ve been helped through reading my books. My life’s verse is 1st Corinthians 9:19, “Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.” What a privilege to be an ambassador for our great God!

Mur has seen God bless the women in her Bible class and I’ve enjoyed interacting with men. What a joy to see some come to personal faith in Jesus Christ and others grow in grace and in their knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. That’s what it’s all about. And our prayer for 2019 is for God to continue working in and through us and our family, and each of you, for His glory.
