This is your spiritual act of worship.  (Romans 12:1)

We closed the last program by summarizing what we learned from our study of Romans 11.  Romans 12, begins the final section of the book.  Chapters 12-16 amplify the steps we need to take to integrate the truth of salvation into daily behavior.

This is the practical outworking of salvation.  Here you get snapshots of what it looks like to live in our kind of world as a saved person who is in process of being sanctified.

Chapter 12 focuses on the foundational truths we need to understand and apply to our lives if we want to fulfill God’s will.  Then in chapter 13 Paul focuses on what is required of us as Christians as we live in society as citizens of the world.  In chapters 14 through the middle of 15 he teaches us how to relate healthily and helpfully toward each other within the body of Christ, the Church.  In the last half of chapter 15 Paul shares how he carefully ordered his life so that he could maintain perspective, discipline and spiritual dynamics as he moved through challenges and changes in his life.  What he did to maintain spiritual dynamic in his life spilled over into chapter 16 as he talks about the people that made a significant contribution to him and his work over the years.

Paul makes it clear that the practical applications to life will not be easy to implement.  There will be those who oppose you.  But you can go forth victoriously because God is able to overcome the opposition and establish you in your faith walk.

Remember the words of the Hymn: There is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.
