As we come to the end of this two year journey of reading and studying through the whole Bible, and as we anticipate the opportunities and challenges of the New Year, I’d like to leave a challenge with you. Take some time to reflect on all you experienced during the past two years. Try identifying a few positive experiences you’ve had during this journey. Think of new insights you gained from God’s word, the Bible. Also, of ways God blessed you, provided for you, or used you. Think of answers to prayer.
After you’ve written down these positive things take some time to deliberately and joyfully thank God. You might also want to call or jot a note to someone who’s been used of God to bless you. Or call or write a note to someone you’ve helped, just to see how he or she is doing.
Then I’d encourage you to prayerfully think about the year ahead of us. Ask God to continue to show you what you can do, that would please Him. Think of ways you’ll need to prepare to make the most of opportunities you’ll encounter.
On this radio program I plan to review again the various reading and study helps that I’ve shared with you over the years. I encourage you to continue reading and studying the Bible, so you will be an approved Christian, rightly dividing the Word of God and prepared to do anything God might ask of you.
