If you are a Christian do you know what your Spiritual gift or gifts are?  Let me share with you from I Peter 4:7-11 a way that might help you discover what your gift or gifts are.

Peter writes: “The end of all things is near.  Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so you can pray.  Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

Every Christian should know we don’t have much time in life to do what we intend to do for God.  We can and should discipline ourselves to make time for prayer.  Pray for yourself to make the most of the time you have.  Pray for sensitivity to see needs to be met around you.  Then pray for God to meet those needs.

Ask God to give you a deep love for others.  Love motivates and removes barriers that could keep you from helping others.  A practical expression of love is to offer hospitality to others and do so without grumbling.  This doesn’t require much food and impeccable surroundings.  Just open your home and heart to others.  In that setting you might discover a need.  Do whatever would help meet that need.  If you keep doing this over a period of time you’ll likely discover things you do well.  Those probably are in keeping with your gifting from God.

In our next visit we’ll continue this study.
