As I mentioned in our last visit, Christmas is a time when we celebrate the love gift God the Father gave us. It’s a gift that brings eternal life to everyone who receives it by faith. The gift is Jesus, God’s Son. I trust you have received Him. If you haven’t, let me encourage you to do so right now. Just ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and become your Savior and Lord. Once you’ve done this you will understand what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:6-7: “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” If you’ve received this treasure you become a vessel through which God’s power is shown. You have the privilege of sharing the light you have received with those who are still in darkness. You have the privilege of sharing God’s love gift with others who have not yet received it. Prayerfully do so during this Christmas season. Share the gift with loved ones, neighbors and friends. Share it with fellow-workers, classmates and strangers. There is no greater joy you can bring to the heart of God than to help someone receive God’s love gift for them. Give the angels in heaven reason to rejoice and celebrate as they did that first Christmas evening. Do what the shepherds did, “When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child.” This Christmas, spread the word about Jesus.
