In our last visit we explained why Jesus Christ died for our sins. He did this not only for our sins, but the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1-2 says, “Jesus Christ, the Righteous One…is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” We’ve reflected for some time on what all might be involved in obeying Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” Listen carefully to what Paul wrote in Philippians 2:6-11, “Who (that is Christ Jesus) being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” That’s what Jesus Christ did for you, because He loves you. Sooner or later you along with all in heaven and on earth and under the earth will bow the knee to Jesus Christ. Why not bow before Him right now. He is worthy. Though you and I are unworthy, He loves us and will accept us if we trust in Him and invite Him to take over in our lives. Just pray, “Jesus, thanks for your loving sacrifice. Please forgive me. I invite you into my life to become my Savior and Lord, Amen.” Please, let me know if you did this.
