The Bible has much to say about life. It discusses how life was created, how it was impacted by the disobedience of man, and how God provided a new way for man to experience life as God intended. There are many places we could study in the Bible to better understand this topic. I’d like for us to look at Ephesians chapter 5 through 6:4 and use the focus and amplify study method.
After reading this portion a number of times I determined the focus to be: The Secret of a Quality Life, especially in marriage and family. As I reflected further on what I’d read I felt this focus could be amplified as follows: Quality “faith family” living is a prerequisite for quality family living.
What I mean by this is that some basic issues need to be in place in your personal walk with God as it relates to the family of those who believe. If this area of your life is growing, healthy and strong it will put you in a good position to work at having a healthy and strong life in your biological family relationships. To fully appreciate this you will need to include chapter 6, to verse 4, which deals with parent/child relationships.
Throughout these verses in Ephesians you will find the importance of love, purity and commitment emphasized.
Let me encourage you to take time to read Ephesians 5:1 through 6:4 and try writing out in your own words what is said there. Reflect on how Paul amplifies his focus. Note how each point is foundational to the next. There is a progressive process of growth into maturity as you discover the secret of a quality life.
