Update from Lud and Mur, March ’17

March 16th, 2017

Since our last update we have been on a three part journey focusing on our areas of life and ministry. Let me explain.
We’ve spent some quality time with family members, now scattered to 5 states. It is a joy to see them all growing in the areas described in Luke 2:52: “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” We find ourselves doing what Jesus mother did in Luke 2:51: she “treasured all these things in her heart.” We pray for them regularly with the confidence that “He who began a good work in them will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
The second part of our journey continues to be building relationships in which we can share life in Christ together. We wish we could have such times with all of you who receive these updates, but that is not physically or financially possible. When we’re able we try to make time for those we can meet along the way. We had a number of such visits in Illinois, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and West Virginia (a total of about 4,000 miles). By the way, whenever any of you travel to our area we’d love to visit with you here. We consider building and deepening relationships and mentoring some, such a privilege and joy.
We made some connections for the radio ministry at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Orlando, FL and stopped in at the Bible Broadcast Network in Charlotte, NC. While there I met with those who are doing the work of translating my program into Russian and Chinese. The two men working on the Chinese version shared how much the studies they are producing are ministering to them personally. That was good to hear, because it means they’re internalizing the messages before they share them with the listening audience. Pray for God to touch many tracking with the programs as they attempt to read through the Bible in two years.
As I’ve been reading ahead in order to prepare the material for the programs I’ve again been impressed with two characters. For women, check out Abigail, in 1st Samuel 25.* For men, check out Jonathan, in 1st Samuel 13 – 2nd Samuel 1.**
Please pray for me as I will be preaching at Chesterland Baptist Church this Sunday, March 19, 11:00 am.
